Lyndon Institute Dual Sports Success Stories

June 9th, 2021

At Lyndon Institute, we pride ourselves in allowing our athletes to achieve their athletic goals in multiple sports during one season. Here are just a few of those success stories:

Falicia Christman: Her primary sport was basketball, and her secondary sport was indoor track. In 2018 she set the school record in the 55-meter dash in indoor track and placed at the indoor championships. She was also a member of the 2017 girls' basketball state championship team.

Travvis Ferguson: His primary sport was baseball as a shortstop and pitcher. His secondary sport was track and field. In 2015 he was Division 2 state champion in javelin and triple jump. He placed 2nd in the 400 and 3rd in the long jump. In 2016 he won the javelin, triple jump, and 4x100 meters at the Division 2 state meet. He was 2nd in the long jump. Travvis holds school records in the javelin and was a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams in 2016, which set school records in those events. He was also a member of the North/South baseball team.

Camryn Heath: Her primary sport was basketball, and her secondary sport was indoor track. In 2017 was a starter on the state championship basketball team and placed 3rd in the indoor shot put. In 2018 she became the only (known) female athlete in school history to score 30 points and collect 20 rebounds in a game and preceded that with a 21 point and 17 rebound game. The same week she broke the indoor shot put record at LI while winning the indoor championship. In 2019 she again won the indoor championship for shot put, resetting the school record, and had a double-double in basketball the same week. She was the number one ranked shot putter in the state and a North/South selection in basketball.

Zea Macris: Her primary sport was softball, and her secondary sport was track. In 2016 Zea placed in both shot put and javelin in the state championship. In 2017 the softball team won the championship, and Zia hit an out-of-the-park home run in the championship game. She also won the Division 2 javelin championship and placed in the shot put in 2017.

Kendalia Turner: Her primary sport was softball, and her secondary sport was track. She was the starting shortstop on the 2017 state championship team and placed 3rd in the javelin in the division 2 state championships. Zia and Kendalia both threw over 100 feet in the championships. Both were North/South selections in softball.

Travis Wilkinson: His primary sport was soccer, and his secondary was football. He set the school record for extra points in a game in LI/SJA game en route to LI's biggest rout of SJA.
