Position Title: Early Childhood Education Instructor
Classification: Faculty
Supervisor: Career and Technical Education Director

Lyndon Institute is launching an Early Childhood Education program for the 2024-25 school year, and seeks a child-centered and dynamic leader to inspire the next generation of educators. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the field of early childhood and elementary education, and be excited to work with high-school age students, preparing them for a career in education. 

In its first year, key responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Teaching Dual-Enrollment college courses in early childhood education, child development, infant and toddler development and communication in partnership with Community College of Vermont
  • Supervising students in targeted education-related internships in partnership with Northeast Kingdom Community Action, as well as other public and private early childhood centers. 
  • Implement the Educators Rising curriculum and related student organization, working to grow skill and interest in education careers. 
  • Collaborating with Northeast Kingdom Community Action’s Head Start and Family, Youth and Early Education Directors to move toward establishing an early childhood center on Lyndon Institute’s campus in future years. 

In addition to relevant experience and skill, the ideal candidate for this position will have an entrepreneurial mindset, creative approach to problem solving, and deep knowledge and love for education as a career pathway. 

Requirements

Candidates must possess a BA/BS degree and a valid Vermont educator license in early childhood or elementary education will be required as a condition of continued employment, with one or more additional Career and Technical Education specific courses. Most additional licensing costs are paid by Lyndon Institute.
