Description

Position Title: Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Instructor

Classification: Faculty

Supervisor: Career and Technical Education Director

Lyndon Institute is looking for a creative, flexible maker/leader to mentor and guide students through our newly launched Career and Technical Education program from August 2024. We seek a dynamic, collaborative person with experience in advanced manufacturing and engineering to create a positive learning environment within our state-of-the-art high school facility. You must be willing to innovate and implement problem or project-based learning using advanced technology skills in the classroom, and plan, carry out, evaluate, and supervise instructional activities, with a particular emphasis on raising achievement for a wide range of learners. Housing can be made available as part of the compensation package.

Requirements

A BA/BS degree is preferred but not essential.  A valid Vermont educator license in manufacturing or engineering will be required as a condition of continued employment, but Lyndon Institute will pay most licensing costs.

You will be able to transform lives by instructing students in modern manufacturing, including CNC machining, additive manufacturing, LEAN / 6-Sigma principles, and computer-aided manufacturing and design. Some content will be hands-on and taught off-site in partnership with several regional manufacturing partner facilities. The successful candidate will also possess the skills necessary to continue to grow industry partnerships.

As a role model for our students, you’ll have a Maker & Entrepreneurial mindset, a creative approach to problem-solving, and a strong desire to help inspire the next generation of engineers. Familiarity with Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or a combination of these platforms, is essential.
