Career & Technical Education

Career & Technical Education

Career & Technical Education (CTE) is learning that works for Vermont by helping the Northeast Kingdom, Vermont, and our nation meet the workforce challenges of today and tomorrow. The program prepares students to enter into high-paying, career-oriented jobs right after high school. Through partnerships with local and regional businesses seeking employees, we provide current, relevant training in state-of-the-art needs and industry-craved credentials. We offer a complete range of career options to students of all ages and empower them to choose the educational pathway that can lead to success in high school, college, and their chosen career.

Dual Enrollment

Students enrolled in many of the CTE programs automatically earn college credit for their work. In partnership with the Community College of Vermont (CCV), students graduate from their CTE program with the credits from two or more courses, which can be transferred to any accredited college in the US.

National Technical Honor Society

Lyndon Institute is a proud member of the NTHS (chapter 1976). For more than 30 years NTHS has been the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education. NTHS provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive, skilled workforce.

CTE In Vermont

Through organizations such as the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the Future Farmers of America (FFA), LI students learn industry skills and train with students around Vermont and around the country. LI CTE students regularly travel to state and national-level meetings, place and win competitions, and get the chance to work with peers from around the country as they hone their crafts and prepare for their future careers.
